About The Foundation
The Foundation for Maine’s Community Colleges was created in 2009 to ensure that the state’s seven community colleges have the resources they need to provide a high quality, affordable, and accessible college education for Maine people.
The Foundation’s initial capital campaign raised $11.3 million. In all, the Foundation has raised $26 million to expand educational access and academic programs, strengthen student support services, and upgrade instructional equipment and technology.
As the colleges enter their second decade as comprehensive community colleges, the Foundation is focused on:
- Supporting student success,
- Increasing access to higher education, and
- Improving operational efficiencies to serve more students.
