Over the course of 12 years, Connie DiSanto earned academic credit at four different colleges.
In all, she had over 30 credits, a full year’s worth of college.
But with three children under the age of 10, finding the time, money, and focus to complete a degree proved nearly impossible.
Connie was newly divorced and recently laid-off when she heard about the Accelerate ME program. Suddenly, she could see a path to college completion.
Through Accelerate ME, she enrolled in YCCC’s Medical Assisting program in the summer of 2012 and by August 2013 had earned her degree.
She’s now working as a medical assistant in a pediatrician’s office in Portland and is considering enrolling in nursing school once her children are all in school full time.
